GF 7803 T and GF 7903 T tedders are equipped with 6 and 8 rotors respectively, with a working width of 7.80 m. These trailed models are designed to work with low-to-medium-powered tractors. Additional benefits of these two models are driving comfort, easy handling and durability.
You have the choice between two different rotor designs. The large rotors on the GF 7803 T model are suited to long, dense forage. The small rotors on the GF 7903 T machine are perfect if you are looking for optimum forage turning. GF 8703 T and GF 10803 T tedders are models with 8 and 10 small rotors respectively and working widths of 8.70 m and 10.80 m. Narrow plots and points are no trouble for these trailed tedders thanks to their HLC rotor-lift system HLC (Headland Lift Control). Simply activate the valve to lift all rotors to minimum 50 cm from the ground, in less than 5 seconds. These machines are equipped with the same tried-and-tested components that have made KUHN tedders the must-have tool, in terms of forage quality and compact design, for many years.

Your benefits

Fast and uniform forage drying

The new OPTITEDD rotor allows you to double the surface area you can ted

Perfect forage in intense conditions

The new OPTITEDD rotor increases the strength and durability of the working parts. With it, you work twice a many areas. The design of the rotor, arms, and tines, make the machine more robust, enabling it to work in the most extreme conditions (heavy forage, stony land, etc.).
The rotor design and more rigid baseplate greatly reduce vibrations. The press-forming of the baseplate and arm have been reinforced. Tine deflectors eliminate the load on the tine arms, and prevent forage from riding up and winding round the rotor tines. The « anti-loss » function prevents losing tines in the forage which could damage the machines that follow and pollute the ration. The new OPTITEDD rotor pushes the limits in terms of resistance and lifetime of the working parts. It allows you to double the surface area you can ted. The design of the rotor, the arms and the tines means increased robustness so that the machine can work even in the most extreme conditions (heavy forage, stony ground, etc.).

Full pick-up with asymmetrical tines

The heavy duty tines mounted on this new rotor have a service life that is doubled compared to standard models. A prong diameter of 10 mm and 4 large diameter coils (80 mm) contribute to a strong reduction in tine fatigue without altering the flexibility they need for work. Tedding quality is preserved while internal stresses and constraints on the tines are reduced in heavy forage.

The advantages of small rotors

The experts are convinced; small-diameter rotors produce higher quality forage. According to the German Chamber of Agriculture, Weser Ems, drying time is 33% faster. The experts at the DLG (technical agricultural organisation), reported that the crop is turned completely, and forage is spread uniformly. See the test results!
The farmers that use them can no longer do without them. The many benefits of small rotors are indispensable for producing top quality forage.
Work with a wide pitch angle to pick up all of the forage, and benefit from:
  • Fast and uniform drying.
  • Complete crop turning.
  • Unrivalled crop spreading.
  • Exceptional ground following
  • Individual rotor articulations, with equal spacing between them, and asymmetrical tines, ensure that all of the forage is worked.
This is also the case in long and dense forage, as well as on uneven land. It takes just 2 minutes to adjust the pitch angle of the rotors to adapt to forage density, with no tools required.

GF 7803 T : For tedding and dense forage

Being equipped with six large-diameter rotors with seven tine arms, GF 7803 T tedders are the ideal machines for spreading out the crop from large windrows.
The large-diameter rotors have been specially designed to handle long and dense forage.

Quick adjustment of the tine angle

For long or short, wet or dry crops, tine angle is adjusted near the wheel supports, with no tools required. Always remember that a wide angle reduces drying time and increases the nutritional content in the forage.
The tine pitch angle is easily adjusted on the GF 8703 T and GF 10803 T

Less maintenance

The DIGIDRIVE coupling ensures tedding with exceptional reliability

The DIGIDRIVE coupling: the revolution

When KUHN invented this drive concept, tedding entered a new age.
From then on, it became possible to power many rotors, and to fold them into an extremely compact unit, completely maintenance free. A true revolution!
Since the launch of the DIGIDRIVE system with fingers, over a million rotors have been tedding forage, all over the world, with exceptional reliability. The DIGIDRIVE system is made of case-hardened steel and requires no maintenance.

Durable rotor gearboxes

Guidance is by large double-row angular ball bearings. Thoroughly sealed rotor gearbox prevents lubricant leakage and the introduction of impurities. The attachment system to the rectangular frame is robust, with spacers housing long connecting screws. With these rotor gearboxes, greasing is limited to a relatively few pivot points.
Spend more time in the field and less on maintenance!
The rotor gearboxes of the GF 1003 T series tedders are designed for a long service life

Deflector plates for clean wheels

Operating in young, sugar-rich, or long, late-season forage can be tricky if it gets wrapped around the wheel columns. This inevitably leads to downtime to solve the problem. Therefore, use deflector plates to prevent forage from getting wound around the wheel columns.
The deflectors on the GF 8703 T prevent forage from wrapping around the wheel columns

Fast and easy manœuvres

The HLC system on the GF 7803 T facilitates headland turn manœuvres

50 cm in less than 5 s with the HLC (Headland Lift Control) system

Take advantage of the speed of the HLC rotor-lift system at headlands. The clearance of the dcentral rotors reaches 50 cm, and the outer rotors lift even higher.

An easy-to-handle machine for faster output and increased working comfort:
  • Reverse into points.

  • Your headland turns are made easy.

  • Drive between your field patches without folding your machine. Ditches are no longer a problem!

High rotor clearance prevents forage from wrapping when manoeuvring over large windrows.

Quality forage, even at the headlands

The HLC system greatly improves the reactiveness of the tedder when reversing and manoeuvring, to ensure high quality forage over the entire plot, even on very narrow plots. The height of the HLC rotor-lift system is impressive, making it possible to:
Pass over large mounds of forage without it wrapping around the wheels. Forage is turned once only, including on headlands.
Reverse on uneven terrain without picking up dirt (soil, stones) and contaminating the forage.
The HLC system on the GF 7803 T improves the tedder's reactions and ensures quality forage.

Ultra-compact for more safety on the road

On the road, comfort is absolute.
One of the best transport compactness on the market (3 metres wide and 3.15 and 3.30 metres high for the GF 8703 T and GF 10803 T). Extremely manoeuvrable, making it even easier to get around
The 3-point linkage and transport wheels provide the necessary weight transfer between machine and tractor when lifting rotors to pass over windrows or for folding/unfolding.
Easy handling thanks to large transport wheels (300 mm), positioned close to the machine's pivot point.
This ensures that the machine reacts quickly when driving on bends, making driving easier.

Universal and compact machines

The GF 7803 T and GF 7903 T tedders are among the most compact on the market. This provides great maneuverability and facilitates travel. They attach easily to all tractors with a category 2 3-point hitch.
Practical: in uneven areas, it is possible to raise the front of the rotors slightly for easier passage.
The lowering movement of the transport wheels is combined with the rotors tilting forward. In the transport position, the overall height is reduced, the load transfer to the tractor is optimal and road holding at high speed is perfect.

Wheels in front of the rotors on GF 7803 T and GF 7903 T

To reduce weight on the central rotor wheels, the transport wheelset is located in front of the rotors.
Only part of the weight is borne by these central wheels, the rest being transferred to the drawbar and the tractor.
The advantages are obvious:
Less stress on the central rotors.
Load transferred to the tractor hitch.
For good ground contouring on bumpy terrain, a set of two extra wheels on a swinging shaft can be fitted in front of the rotors.
