Simple and efficient, the new, KUHN exclusive GF 13003 tedder is designed to meet the expectations of the most demanding users of mounted tedders. With a working width of 13.00 m and 12 rotors, it is capable of impressive work output to meet requirements. Good ground contour following is ensured as well as high-quality forage pick-up. Fluffing/expansion quality is optimal. Forage is turned and spread over the ground uniformly.

Your benefits

High-quality output ensured

The GF 13003 tedder is equipped with small-diameter OPTITEDD rotors

Small rotors speed up drying time by 33%

Our KUHN experts are convinced that small rotors provide many benefits indispensable for producing top quality forage
  • Work with a large pitch angle and pick up all the forage.

  • Fast and uniform drying.

  • Forage turned completely.

  • Impressive transversal spread.

  • Exceptional ground adaptation.
The table below shows the effect of different pitch angles on tedding efficiency.
A large angle greatly reduces drying time.

A large pitch angle optimises forage pick-up

The larger-angled rotor is also an advantage. The forage is turned rather than just being sent rearwards.
The larger-angled rotors on the GF 13003 model contribute to effective forage turning

All the forage is picked up with asymmetrical tines

Tine length is asymmetrical with the outer tine being longer which is benefitial for producing high quality tedding. The outer tine moves into the forage before the inner tine, unlike a symmetrical design. This ensures that all of the forage is worked, even at field edges and in the sensitive area between the rotors. Moving into the forage sooner means that the actual working width, thus the machine, is larger.
The GF 13003 picks up all of the forage thanks to its asymmetrical tines

Impressive ground following

In keeping with the overall KUHN hay- and silage-making experience, the GF 13003 model contours the ground perfectly. The distance between the rotor wheels and the tines makes the machine more reactive, and ensures great forage pick-up and ground following. The rotor units are articulated individually enabling a higher performance on uneven ground.
The GF 13003 tedder follows ground contours perfectly

A real pleasure

The HLC system on GF 13003 tedders

Easier to manoeuvre at headlands

The rotor-lifting HLC (Headland Lift Control) system makes your job easier. At headlands, the HLC headland-turn function makes it possible to lift all rotors by simply activating the tractor's hydraulic valve. The rotors are raised from the ground simultaneously, in less than 5 seconds, for U-turns at the end of the plot or during manoeuvres in field points for example. High rotor lift prevents forage build-up when manoeuvring over swaths left by mowers. High rotor clearance also stops the forage being turned a second time to preserve the quality of the forage. In addition, the HLC system enables the machine to clear large obstacles to avoid damaging the working parts.

All of the forage stays in the plot

Border tedding is managed by the two outer right-hand rotors that pivot. This function is integrated into the machine's kinematics and requires no additional hydraulic valve. It prevents forage from being projected into neighbouring plots.

Easy to set

It is quick and easy to adjust the tedder to different positions from the cab. Just one terminal and two hydraulic valves are necessary to control the machine's various functions. The terminal is user-friendly to avoid any risk of error. 1 DA valve is required to fold the machine and for the oblique setting. 1 SA valve is needed to unlock and fold the machine. The system for setting to work and transport position is quick, easy, and reliable.

A compact tedder on the road

The clever design makes the machine compact in transport mode for safe road travel. The centre of gravity is close to the tractor making it possible to couple the machine to medium-powered tractors.

A reliable machine for your tedding jobs

With OPTITEDD rotors, the GF 13003 tedder can handle long working days.

A robust machine capable of working in intensive tedding conditions

The OPTITEDD rotor concept as well as the arms and tines, on this new tedder, reach new levels in terms of resistance and the service life of the working parts. The machine can work in the most extreme conditions (heavy forage, stony terrain, etc.). The chassis is now more rigid which greatly reduces vibrations. The service life of the Heavy-Duty tines on this new rotor is twice as long as the previous models, with no impact on flexibility. Tedding quality is preserved while the stresses and strains on the tines, in heavy forage, is reduced. Tine deflectors eliminate the load on the tine arms and prevent forage from winding round the tines and the rotors.

DIGIDRIVE drive system and robust rotor housing: a revolution

When KUHN invented this drive design, tedding entered a new era.
From then on, it became possible to drive a great many rotors, and to fold them into an extremely compact unit, with no maintenance required. A real revolution!
Guidance is by large double-row angular ball bearings. Thoroughly sealed rotor housing prevents lubricant leakage and the introduction of contaminants. The attachment system to the rectangular frame is robust, with spacers housing long connecting screws. With these rotor housings, greasing is limited to just a few pivot points.
Spend more time in the field and less on maintenance!

Since the DIGIDRIVE system with fingers was launched, over a million rotors have been working the land all over the world, tedding forage to an exceptional standard. The DIGIDRIVE system is made of case-hardened steel and requires no maintenance.

The DIGIDRIVE system

Buying a KUHN GF 13003 tedder, means choosing reliability. With the patented connecting system between the tedder's beam and the linkage system, you benefit from:
  • Effective suspension for road transport

  • Perfect stability when turning and at work

  • Perfect centring when raising the lift system

  •  Better load transfer from the machine to the tractor due to less overhang.
The GF 13003 tedder is stable when turning in work mode

Machine stability at work and for storage

The two central rotors are equipped with twin wheels, as standard, for improved weight balance on the ground (ground preservation), and better machine stability at work and for storage.
