Offset tamping wheels

Offset tamping wheels for fuel savings

The tamping wheels of the ESPRO RC range seed drills are staggered in 2 rows offset by 200 mm to avoid the “bulldozer” effect. Dirt and residue do not accumulate at the front of the wheel assembly. Their large diameter (900 mm) limits rolling resistance and thus limits the required pull power. Their narrow profile facilitates the flow of soil and residue. Note that these wheels are not linked together, which avoids marking at the end of the field. Finally, the “square” tread pattern of the tyres ensures uniform tamping of the seeding lines. A unique concept combining seeding precision, power and fuel savings and high work output!

Levelling adapted to any conditions

ESPRO (R) seeders can be equipped with a set of front tamping wheels, track eradicators or a levelling blade. The objective? level the soil before passing the two rows of preparation discs. This configuration contributes to reducing fuel consumption and maintaining the seed drill in light soils. Hydraulic adjustment of the tamping wheel pressure from the cabin ensures optimal performance, whatever the type of soil.

A light machine reducing pull power requirement

The overall weight of the ESPRO 1002 (R) seed drills has been reduced thanks to the lighter chassis and the new plastic hopper. This new design limits pull power requirement and therefore fuel consumption. It also offers excellent manoeuvrability for transport and work.

Your comfort is our priority

ISOBUS management

The electric distribution drive, coupled with an ISOBUS terminal, offers many possibilities!
  • intuitive calibration test thanks to the calibration button and automatic engagement of the metering system,
  • simple and quick adjustments of the pressure and working depth of the working elements;
  • automated management of headland turns without using the tractor controls;
  • modulation of the seed application rate which can be done manually or automatically by GPS via an ISOBUS terminal with the TC-GEO function.
So many assets making the ESPRO a seed drill designed and appreciated for its ergonomics and comfort of use!

Clever headland turn management

The headland turn management is automated and does not require using the tractor controls. How does it work ? Select “go” or “end” on the CCI terminal screen. The working elements lower or raise and the metering unit automatically activates or stops in the pre-programmed order.

Easy and secure hopper access

Loading the ESPRO 1002 (R) hopper is quick and easy thanks to its secure, side access platform at mid-height. If you forget, the platform automatically folds when moving to the transport position. A half-opening mode is available with the advantage of loading as close as possible to the seed drill. The tarpaulin is equipped with an automatic winding system with central locking.

A versatile and universal seed drill

Thanks to the possible combination of six independent working sections, the ESPRO range seed drills ensure optimal performance whether on plowed or min-tilled land.
  • Levelling: set of front tamping wheels or levelling blade;
  • Soil cultivation: working discs distributed over 2 rows ;
  • Tamping upstream of the seeding units: narrow, large diameter tamping wheels with an exclusive tyre tread pattern;
  • Seeding: CROSSFLEX seeding bar equipped with double large diameter discs, beveled and offset;
  • Consolidation of each seeding line: press wheels for excellent soil/seed contact ;
  • Covering: universal covering harrow.

Working discs especially effective in min-till practices

The large diameter working discs (460 mm) are distributed over 2 rows and positioned in front of the seeding units. They cut crop residues, incorporate them into the soil and refine the soil to prepare the seedbed. In addition to the concave and notched discs, seed drills in the ESPRO 1002 (R) range can be equipped with “straight” working discs perfectly suited to min-till cultivation techniques. These limit the surface area worked and keep the soil moisture. The individual and independent attachment of each disc also ensures excellent ground following.

The precision of the CROSSFLEX seeding bar

The CROSSFLEX seeding bar is equipped with double large diameter discs (350 mm), beveled and offset by 41 mm. These characteristics ensure perfect V-shaped furrow opening and precise seed positioning even in dry conditions or in the presence of crop residue. The seeding units are mounted on a bar with an exclusive cross-shaped profile. Polyurethane blocks hold them securely in place for a regular seeding depth even at high speed. The maximum ground pressure is adjustable up to 120 kg. Finally, the press wheels ensure excellent soil/seed contact.
